Manufacturing

On a production site, an IT fault rarely shows up on a monitor first. It shows up at the loading bay. A work order fails to arrive at the machine, the label printer refuses to print the part number your OEM customer insists on, or the Logo or Netsis server simply goes quiet. The line stands idle, the container cut-off gets closer and an export load misses its vessel. Apply looks after the servers, ERP platform and network of factories in organised industrial zones across Turkey, entirely by remote access, and keeps the office side firmly apart from the shop floor. Add the 24/7 support option and the night shift has someone watching too. We never visit the plant, and because most of the work is configuration, you will rarely wish we did.

What we take responsibility for

Our side covers configuration, servers, data moving between systems and security. Cabling, control cabinets and the terminals mounted on machines remain the job of your in-house maintenance people or the electrical contractor you already use. They follow step-by-step guides we prepare, and one of our engineers joins by video whenever a job needs a second pair of eyes.

Finance here, the shop floor there

The network is carved into zones and we write and push the firewall policy from a distance, which means a PLC, a touch panel or the PC next to a line can reach only the one system it genuinely depends on. The paperwork follows the thinking behind IEC 62443 and is written so you can hand it straight to an OEM supplier auditor or attach it to the security questionnaire a European buyer sends you.

An ERP that survives month end

Logo Tiger, Netsis, Mikro, SAP Business One or Business Central, whether it sits in the plant's server room or with a cloud provider. We run the server, the SQL database, backups, updates and user permissions. We plan upkeep jointly with your ERP partner and keep it well away from the monthly close, the e-Defter deadline and the year-end stock count.

Orders down to the machine, figures back up

Work orders flow into the MES or the data collection terminals beside each line, while output counts, rejects and consumed material travel the other way. We build these links and watch them, so nobody spends the end of a shift typing handwritten production sheets into the ERP. Picture a furniture maker in Kayseri logging downtime on its panel saws and edge banders in two separate places: once connected, those minutes come straight off the terminals.

Servers and switches under constant watch

Switches, firewalls, servers and backup jobs are checked around the clock. If the link to the finished goods warehouse drops at 02:40, an alert fires straight away. With 24/7 support in your contract, the engineer on duty is already working on it while the shift lead is still unaware.

Controlled access for machine builders

When the Italian or German manufacturer of your CNC centre needs to dial in, their engineer should see that machine and nothing else, certainly not the finance share. In place of a remote control tool someone installed years ago and never closed, we set up access limited to one segment, recorded in full and expiring on its own once the job is done.

Every shift treated the same

Under the 24/7 support option, a request logged at three in the morning gets the same treatment as one logged at noon, including weekends and public holidays when the plant keeps running. Response times are set out in your contract. Without that option, our hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00-18:00 Turkey time (GMT+3). Together we decide which lines really need overnight cover.

How the work unfolds

Anything touching the production network waits for a planned stoppage or maintenance day. As long as an order is running, we leave its settings alone.

01

Remote discovery

We scan the devices on the network, read through the firewall rules and list what the ERP environment is made of. After that, a brief conversation with the plant manager: which systems would hurt after ten minutes offline?

02

Zoning blueprint

We hand over a drawing of how office and shop-floor networks will be separated, the list of connections that will be allowed, the devices that need isolating first and a sequence built around your maintenance calendar.

03

One line at a time

A single hall or line goes first, the rest follow. Configuration happens remotely. If a cable has to move to another port, your maintenance technician makes the change while we confirm the result live on screen.

04

Business as usual

Round-the-clock checks, updates inside agreed windows, periodic reviews of firewall rules and machine builder accounts, and support hours matched to your shift pattern.

Ransomware usually walks into a plant via an email to procurement, not via a lathe. That is why splitting office and production networks is the single most effective step a plant can take. Take a hypothetical plastic injection moulder in Bursa with 90 staff, supplying the automotive industry. A trojan arrives hidden in a fake dispatch note. If the rules between zones are strict, the attack has a good chance of stopping at the boundary: the moulding machines keep running, only the office PCs are restored from backup, and deliveries to the OEM carry on as planned.

Frequently asked questions

That depends on your sector and on whether you work with operators of critical infrastructure. Please confirm your obligations under the Cybersecurity Law and related rules with your legal adviser; what we contribute is the technical picture. In practice, most automotive and white goods suppliers feel the pressure from customers before any regulator: OEMs and European buyers ask for network separation, tested backups and an incident response plan. We put those in place with you, along with risk analysis, access control, logging and a clear route for reporting to USOM.

No, that work belongs to the machine builder or your automation engineers: ladder logic, recipes, commissioning. Our part is the network, remote access, servers, ERP, integrations and keeping all of that secure. We put the dividing line on paper so that, when something breaks, the right person to contact is obvious.

Most of the job is software and settings, and secure remote access covers that. Hands-on jobs are few, like replacing a dead switch or re-plugging a patch lead, and your maintenance staff handle them with our written steps while we watch on video. Compared with a technician crawling through industrial zone traffic, this tends to be faster.

Upgrading them is often impossible, since the vendor's control software refuses to run on anything newer. The answer is containment: each one gets its own segment, internet is cut, only the traffic the machine really uses is allowed, USB is disabled and we keep a complete image of the disk. That way they keep producing safely until the vendor releases something supported.

Quite the opposite, the split of duties becomes clearer. Your partner handles modules, reports, parameters and user training. We handle what sits underneath, from the server and SQL to backups, speed and user accounts. With that written into both contracts, every version upgrade has a named owner for preparing the environment and another for installing the update.

On the technical side, yes. We monitor the services that connect your ERP with the private integrator you chose, and if e-İrsaliye submissions stall just as a lorry is being loaded, we trace the cause. Apply is not an integrator and does not issue financial seals or e-signatures; we work alongside the providers you already have.

Start begins at €490 a month plus VAT and covers up to 10 users; Business costs €1,090 a month plus VAT; Premium starts at €2,190 a month plus VAT. Work outside a plan is billed at €55 per hour plus VAT, with an estimate shared beforehand. Which one suits you depends mainly on headcount, the hours that must be covered and the delay your lines can tolerate before someone answers.
