Online payments and virtual POS

Imagine a family business in Gaziantep selling pistachios and baklava. Its store runs on ikas, its buyers are in Turkey, and orders multiply in the run-up to the holidays. Individual customers want to pay by card, often in instalments; companies buying gift boxes for staff pay by bank transfer; and a share of customers will not order without cash on delivery. Adding payment options to the checkout is the easy bit. The trouble sits at the edges. A shopper types the SMS code on the 3D Secure screen, then closes the browser, and the order sticks at “awaiting payment”. A transfer arrives with “baklava” in the description instead of an order number. A box turns up crushed and needs a partial refund. On Monday a single lump sum lands in the account and no one can say which orders and fees it contains. We make sure every payment method works from the click right through to the accounting entry, and above all that it keeps working when something goes wrong. Setup, help with provider applications and testing are all done remotely.

What the work covers in practice

We compare more than commission rates. What matters is which methods your customers expect, how many days the money takes to reach you, how refunds work and whether the provider gives reports your accountant can actually use.

Agree the scope with the engineer who will do the work

Payment institution or bank virtual POS

With payment institutions such as iyzico, PayTR and Param, onboarding is quick and instalment options from many banks come through one integration. A direct virtual POS agreement with your bank can bring lower commission as volumes grow. To run several POS accounts from one point, an orchestration layer such as Craftgate is another option.

3D Secure and card security

Card details never touch your server; the payment form runs inside the provider's secure environment. The burden and risk of storing card data therefore stays with the provider, and your side only keeps the outcome of each transaction.

Instalment options

How many instalments each card family gets, whether you or the customer bear the extra cost, and instalment limits by basket value. The instalment table on the product page stays current and matches the amount shown at checkout exactly.

Bank transfer, EFT and FAST

The customer gets a reference code containing the order number. Your bank's account movement service or statement file is read at regular intervals and payments are matched on that code. Short or excess amounts reach your team as alerts.

Cash on delivery

Cash or card payment at the door is set up together with the courier's collection service. Amounts the courier forwards to your account are matched to orders, and parcels that could not be delivered are listed separately.

Status callbacks and edge cases

The provider reports the payment result server to server, so the order moves to the correct status even if the customer never returns to the site. Stuck payments are polled regularly, and partial refunds and disputes are flagged to the team.

Reconciliation with your books

Each lump-sum transfer is broken into orders, refunds, instalment charges and commission, then posted to Logo, Mikro, Netsis or Paraşüt in a way that spares anyone from ticking off bank statements by hand.

How we approach the job, from first call to handover

Payment institutions and banks review your site before approving you, and that can take weeks. So we file the application in the first week and run the technical work alongside it.

01

Choosing the payment mix

Using last year's sales, we estimate how much each method will be used, the cost per transaction and how long each takes to settle.

02

Application and site review

We help you prepare the paperwork and check that the distance sales contract, pre-contract information form, return terms, KVKK privacy notice and contact details are visible on the site. The legal content of those texts is for your lawyer.

03

Checkout and callbacks

Payment methods, instalment table, server callbacks, polling of pending payments, one-click refunds and posting to your accounts.

04

Acceptance test with real money

For every method, one real purchase, one partial refund and one full refund. Nothing goes live until all three look right in the store and in the books.

Decide up front who pays for instalments. On instalment sales the bank or payment institution charges an extra fee. Leave it out of your pricing and every long-instalment sale eats into your margin; pass all of it on and more shoppers may abandon their baskets. A common compromise is to absorb the cost up to a set number of instalments and show anything beyond that clearly to the customer. Whichever model you choose, the table on the product page and the amount at checkout must agree.

Frequently asked questions

Neither is a workable option for sellers based in Turkey, so we do not recommend them. For domestic card payments we look at iyzico, PayTR, Param, Craftgate or your bank's virtual POS, and for buyers abroad we review the foreign card support these providers offer.

Usually not. Some groups of customers, first-time buyers in particular, will not order without it. On the other hand, cash-on-delivery orders can see higher rates of failed delivery and returns. We look at your own data and, if needed, limit the option to baskets under a certain value or to returning customers.

The bank takes the amount back from your account and asks you for evidence. The set-up we build alerts your team straight away and gathers the order details, tracking number and delivery record in one place, so you can respond within the deadline.

Yes. Bank transfer can be limited to approved business accounts, cash on delivery to baskets up to a certain amount and longer instalments to selected product groups. We configure the rules on the site and give you an estimate in advance based on €55 per hour plus VAT.
