Tools for IT teams

Think of a group running four hotels across Antalya and Muğla. Head office has a two-person IT team, and each hotel has front desk PCs, accounting workstations, network gear, a video recorder for the cameras and a guest internet line. Every spring hundreds of seasonal staff arrive and are given accounts, mailboxes and sometimes laptops; by October most of them have gone. Who holds which device is recorded on paper hand-over forms, and which accounts are still active is something nobody can say. Faults usually come to light through a message from the head receptionist. The right tooling turns this firefighting into planned work: the IT team knows which devices and software exist, where they are, who has them, how healthy they are and what looks set to break soon, all before users notice. Apply chooses the tools with you, installs them remotely and tunes them. Where a licence is required, you buy it directly from the vendor or a reseller.

What the work covers in practice

Built for IT teams of one to three people who have to run several sites remotely. The point is to see what is going on without travelling to each location.

Agree the scope with the engineer who will do the work

Inventory and hand-over

GLPI, Snipe-IT or Intune collect devices, installed software, location and the person using each machine automatically. A device issued to an employee is linked to a digital hand-over record, so the list of what must come back is ready the day they leave.

Monitoring with sensible thresholds

Zabbix, Uptime Kuma or an RMM platform depending on size, covering servers, firewalls, internet lines, disk space, SSL certificates and camera recorders. Thresholds are set so nobody is woken by false alarms every night.

Joiners and leavers

Ready-made flows in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace: the right groups, licence, mailbox and shared folders are provisioned in one step and removed in one step. Seasonal and temporary staff receive accounts with a built-in expiry date.

Patching in rings

Intune releases Windows and app updates gradually: pilot machines get them first, offices next, and last of all the sensitive machines such as front desk and point of sale. A list of systems past vendor support belongs here too.

Backup status at a glance

Every nightly backup job reports its outcome to the console. A failed job shows up as a notification the next morning rather than as a shock when a restore is suddenly urgent.

Logged remote support

A remote support tool that connects only with the user's consent and records each session. Home-based staff are covered the same way.

A one-page monthly report

Incidents, pending updates, failed backups, stale accounts still open, and upcoming renewals for licences, domains and certificates, written plainly enough for management.

How we approach the job, from first call to handover

First we establish what is actually there, then choose the tools. Installation and tuning happen remotely, one site after another.

01

Discovery scan

A network scan and a trial agent on a few machines reveal how many devices really exist. The number almost never matches any hand-kept list.

02

Choosing the tools

A shortlist mixing no-cost and commercial products, matched to the size of your estate. You buy any paid licences yourself, using the technical specification we prepare.

03

Site-by-site roll-out

Agents go out location by location. If a device needs restarting or a cable plugging in on site, your own staff or local technician handles it with our guidance.

04

First-month tuning

We adjust thresholds, update groups and notifications, then deliver the first monthly report.

The biggest risk is often the accounts nobody closed at the end of the season. A mailbox, VPN login or front office user belonging to someone who left in October may still be open the following summer, and its password has probably leaked from some other website by then. Building a proper leaver flow and reporting stale accounts every month protects you far more than an expensive security product, and costs next to nothing.

Frequently asked questions

For most small teams, at the start, yes. GLPI is strong on inventory and ticketing, and Zabbix or Uptime Kuma handle monitoring. Intune already comes with some Microsoft 365 plans. Once devices and sites multiply while the team stays small, a paid RMM platform starts paying for itself.

Yes. Each hand-over is linked to the inventory record, the hand-over document is generated by the system and the employee's acknowledgement is logged. When someone leaves, the devices they must return appear as a ready list.

Apply works only remotely and does not send anyone to your premises. When a device must be restarted, a cable connected or a disk swapped, your employee or a local technician you work with does it, guided step by step by us.

Yes, they provide concrete evidence for asset inventory, patch management and monitoring. Certification itself is granted by an accredited body after an audit; our part is preparation support.

Our time is charged at €55 an hour plus VAT, with a quote after the discovery scan. Your company buys any paid licences directly. If you want the tools run on an ongoing basis, that can also be covered within our support plans.
